Features
This jack is chocked full of great features that we like. First of all, the lifting handle has the ability to rotate a full 360 degrees for optimum load positioning. This makes it very easy to maneuver the lift underneath your transmission from any angle. Another feature that stands out is the transmission saddle that can be easily adjusted to ensure you get that heavy transmission properly supported.
The Torin has a built-in safety overload protection system that disallows putting overstressing your hydraulic system. We like this feature because most transmissions don’t have a sticker on them that tells you how much they weigh, so if you have to guesstimate and it turns out to weigh more than the 1,000-pound capacity, you won’t irreparably damage the jack. That said, very few car transmissions weigh anywhere near that amount, so you are probably good in any case.
Another thing worth mentioning is that with a minimum clearance of 8.66-inches, this jack arguably has a better lifting range than most others.
Last but not least, we have to mention the steel swivel bearing casters.
